OBERLIN, Ohio—The Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team tied Oberlin College, 1-1, Tuesday evening at Fred Shults Field.

In the first half, Oberlin (0-2-1) scored the first goal of the evening one-minute into the match as Caitlin McCuskey tallied her first goal of the season for a 1-0 lead. Taylor French was credited on the assist. The Yellow Jackets (2-0-2) tied the game at 1-1 at the 37:55 mark when senior midfielder Kelsey Nemeth (Medina) scored her first goal of the season. BW had three shots on goal in the first stanza.

In the second half, the Yellow Jackets and the Yeowomen failed to score in regulation time.

In overtime, both BW and Oberlin held strong on the defensive side of the ball to keep the score tied at one.  In the second and final overtime, both defenses held strong to keep it a 1-1 tie.

The Yellow Jackets outshot the Yeowomen, 19-18, and had 6-5 lead in corner kicks. Oberlin held a 10-6 advantage in shots on goal.

In goal for BW, senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC goalkeeper Emily Tallmadge (Fairview, Pa.) faced 18 total shots, including 10 shots on goal and made nine saves.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, September 12 when they travel to Delaware for a non-conference clash against  Ohio Wesleyan University at the Jay Martin Soccer Complex at 2 p.m.
