Women’s Soccer Team Falls To Heidelberg

TIFFIN, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College women's soccer falls to Heidelberg University, 1-0, tonight (Wednesday, October 12, 2011) in an Ohio Athletic Conference match at Mayer Field.

With the loss, B-W falls to 8-6 overall and 1-3 in the OAC and Heidelberg improves to 5-7-1 overall and 2-2 in the OAC. 

Heidelberg scored the lone goal of the match when Kelsey Hogan scored at the 20:23 minute mark in the first half.

In net for the Yellow Jackets, freshman Gabrielle Bodo (Alliance/St. Thomas Aquinas) tallied three saves while surrendering the lone goal.

B-W outshot the Student Princes  18-9 and won the corner battle 4-2.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action this coming Saturday, October 15 when they will travel to Ada to take on the Polar Bears of Ohio Northern University in the second game of a men's and women's OAC soccer doubleheader at 3:30 p.m.  The next home match is on Tuesday, October 18 when B-W hosts the University of Mount Union on the Finnie Stadium turf at 7:00 p.m.

On Saturday, October 22, the Yellow Jacket men's and women's soccer teams will host Ohio Athletic Conference foe Wilmington College in a doubleheader that will be televised by SportsTime Ohio (STO).  This is the fourth straight year that B-W has televised a soccer doubleheader and will put a perfect 6-0 record on the line.
