BEREA, Ohio – The No. 5 nationally-ranked Baldwin Wallace University wrestling team won its own BW Invitational inside the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse.

BW was the champion of eight teams with 493.5 points.   The Yellow Jackets had seven individual champions and six runner up finishers.

Junior and No. 3 nationally-ranked 125-pounder Jacob Decatur (Akron/Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) - Champion

  • Won a 21-6 technical fall over Gio Luciano of Delaware Valley
  • Pinned Fantauzzi of Baldwin Wallace in 5:57 in second round
  • Won a 5-2 decision over Ryan Kelly of Delaware Valley in third round 

Sophomore 149-pounder Michael Petrella (Reynoldsburg/Bishop Hartley) - Champion

  • Bye in first round
  • Won a 17-2 technical fall over Declan Smith of Delaware Valley in second round
  • Pinned James Brenneman of Ohio Wesleyan in 2:20 in third round
  • Pinned Cortez Bradley of Defiance in 2:53 in fourth round
  • Won a 6-1 decision over McHugh of Baldwin Wallace in fourth round
