ALLIANCE, Ohio – The No.-9 nationally ranked Baldwin University wrestling team opened Ohio Athletic Conference play with a match against the No.-13 nationally ranked University of Mount Union, inside the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex.
After losing the first three matches, BW (0-1, 0-1 OAC) sophomore All-OAC 149-pounder Stanley Bleich (North Ridgeville/Elyria Catholic) reversed the tide with a 14-7 decision.
The Yellow Jackets next win came from senior two-time All-American 165-pounder Anthony Arroyo (Maumee), who also won on an 8-7 decision.
The next victory for BW came off a 16-5 major decision from senior All-OAC 184-pounder Justin Ransom (Madison).
Senior two-time All-OAC 197-pounder Zeckary Lehman (Akron/Revere) followed with another major decision of 12-4.
BW fell in the final match, bringing the final score to 31-14, Purple Raiders.
The Yellow Jackets hit the mats next this Saturday 17, when they host the BW Invitational. Matches will start at 9 a.m.
