Wrestling Jumps to No. 15 in NWCA Poll

BEREA, Ohio—
The Baldwin Wallace University wrestling team jumped five spots to No. 15 in the fourth National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division III poll released on Monday.

BW (10-2) won all of its dual matches in December and has won seven straight. The Yellow Jackets lost its only matches against nationally-ranked opponents in Messiah (Pa.) College and Stevens Institute of Technology (N.J.) at the Mount Union Duals. Messiah, who is currently ranked 11th, was 13th at the time of the loss and Stevens, who is currently ranked ninth, was 11th at the time of the loss.  

The defending NCAA Division III champion Wartburg (Iowa) College remains is first, Ithaca (N.Y.) College is ranked second and Augsburg (Minn.) College rounds out the top three as it jumps five spots to third.

BW is back in action on Thursday and Friday, January 5-6 when it travels to Fort Wayne, Indiana to compete in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) National Duals. The Yellow Jackets first match is against No. 13 New York University in the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum at 11 a.m.
