Arroyo Garners First Career OAC Wrestler of the Week Honor

BEREA, Ohio --  Baldwin Wallace University freshman 165-pound wrestler Anthony Arroyo (Maumee) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Week for his efforts last week.

Arroyo garners his first career weekly honor after posting a perfect 5-0 record last week in one dual match and a 4-0 mark at the 30th Annual John Summa Memorial Tournament. 

He had two pins, including his first OAC pin against Tony Rupert of the University of Mount Union in 3:28 . At the Summa tournament, Arroyo had one pin, a technical fall and a pair of decisions en route to his title.

This season, he has a 16-5 record, including 11 pins and two technical falls. Arroyo also has 20 takedowns, 14 escapes, seven reversals and leads the team with 76 total near falls.

The 19th-ranked Yellow Jackets are back in action when they take a 16-8 overall and perfect 3-0 OAC record into their Seniors' & Parents' Day dual match versus Ohio Northern University on Thursday, February 11 in the Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center.
