Trio of BW Wrestlers to Compete at NCAA National Tourney

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA – Three Baldwin Wallace University wrestlers, senior 133-pounder Andrew Taylor (Columbus/ Worthington Kilbourne) and sophomores 125-pounder Jesse Gunter (Akron/ Coventry) and 165-pounder David Shapiro (Beachwood), will compete at the two-day, 2014 NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament at the U.S. Cellular Center this Friday and Saturday, March 14-15.

Gunter
, ranked fifth in Division III and seeded fifth in the tourney, takes a 27-4 record this season and a 56-6 career mark into his first match against Kevin Corrigan of the College of New Jersey. Corrigan enters the tourney at 16-8 this season.

Taylor
, who had three 20-win seasons during his career, is 31-15 this winter and owns a 91-68 career mark, will face No.5-seeded Jeremy Border of the University of Mount Union in his first match. Border, 27-4 overall this winter, Taylor faced Border two weeks ago at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Tournament at York (Pa.) College and Border pinned him in 2:08.

Shapiro
faces No.2-seed Cole Welter of Wartburg (Iowa) College in his first match. Shapiro leads the Yellow Jackets with a single-season school-record 39 victories and is 39-11 this winter. He enters the national tourney with a 66-25 career mark.
