Baldwin-Wallace Wrestling Team Competes at Cleveland State University Open Meet

CLEVELAND, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College wrestling team competed at the Cleveland State University Open Meet in the Woodling Gymnasium on Sunday, December 18, 2011.  Over 250 participants from 27 schools  participated in the meet.

The Yellow Jackets were led by freshman 149-pounder Sam McIntosh (South Euclid/ Lyndhurst Brush) recorded two victories before being knocked out of the tournament with a 2-2 record.

In addition to McIntosh, sophomore 133-pounder Andrew Taylor (Columbus/ Worthington Kilbourne), freshman 133-pounder Dylan Matz (Erie, Pa./ McDowell) and freshman 157-pounder Alexander Cahill (Westlake) all competed but were unable to post a victory.

B-W is back in action on Saturday, January 7 when it will travel to Waynesburg, Pennsylvania to compete in the Waynesburg University Tournament in the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse at 9:00 a.m.   The next home match is on Tuesday, January 17 when the team will host Cleveland cross-town and Ohio Athletic Conference rival John Carroll University in the Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center at 7:30 p.m.
