WAYNESBURG, PENNSYLVANIA -- The Baldwin-Wallace College wrestling team finished 10th of 12 teams today (Saturday, January 7, 2012) at the Waynesburg University Invitational.
The Yellow Jackets scored 58 points as a team and were led by senior 125-pounder Jeremy Dombrady (Copley) as he finished in second place and had an overall record of 3-1. Dombrady improved his overall record to 5-3 and 3-1 in the 125-pound weight class.
In addition to Dombrady, four other B-W wrestlers placed in the top six of their respective weight class. Three of them placed fifth including, sophomore 133-pounder Andrew Taylor (Columbus/ Worthington Kilbourne) ended his day with a record of 3-2. Taylor leads the team with a 10-8 record. Freshman 149-pounder Sam McIntosh (South Euclid/ Brush) went 2-2 to and now has an overall record of 9-8. Junior 184-pounder Joe Georgian (Eastlake/Villa Angela-St. Joseph), who saw his first action of the season due to injury, went 3-1.
Also, freshman 141-pounder Nick Ramsey (Cleveland/Lakewood), who wrestled in his first action since joining the team in January, went 2-2 and placed sixth.
B-W is back in action on Tuesday, January 10 when it will travel to Ada to open Ohio Athletic Conference action against the Polar Bears of Ohio Northern University at 7:30 p.m. The next home match is on Tuesday, January 17 when the team will host Cleveland cross-town rival John Carroll University in the Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center at 7:30 p.m.
