Baldwin Wallace Student-Athletes Selected As OAC Players of the Week

BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin Wallace University junior 197-pound wrestler Tristan Stoll (Milan/ Edison) is this week's (February 14, 2011) Ohio Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Week, respectively. Each student-athlete earned the accolade for their efforts last week (Feb. 5-12).

This marks the third time this season and the fifth time in the past two seasons that Stoll has received the award.

Stoll stretched his current winning streak to 14 straight matches, including 13 consecutive pins, as he had a 3-0 record last week as helped the Yellow Jackets improve to 11-8 overall and 4-1 in the OAC.  He pinned all three of his opponents in a combined time of 9:08, including a pin in 1:03 of Ohio Northern University's Matt Alexander on Saturday in Berea.

Stoll enters tomorrow's, February 15 match versus No.8-ranked the University of Mount Union at 24-4 overall and a perfect 5-0 in the OAC.  The 197-pound match will be an outstanding one as Stoll faces Mount Union's Bill Schindel, who has a 25-1 record and is the defending OAC champ and a returning Division III All-American.

The only non-pin that Stoll has in his last 14 matches is a forfeit win at Wilmington College on January 25. Earlier this season, he captured the individual title at 197 pounds in the season-opening Messiah (Pa.) Tournament with a 4-0 record and also finished second at the Rochester Institute of Technology Tournament.
