Baldwin Wallace University Wrestlers Finish 1-3 at Wilkes John Reese Duals in Pennsylvania
BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University wrestling team  finished with a 1-3 record at the 2008 Wilkes University John Reese Duals today (Saturday, November 15) in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
 
The Yellow Jackets, now 1-6 overall, won their first match of the day against the University of Scranton (Pa.), 23-18, but then lost consecutive matches to 25th-ranked and host Wilkes, 35-9, 23rd-ranked SUNY-Oneonta (N.Y.), 32-7, and to 14th-ranked King's (Pa.) College, 41-3.
 
In the win versus Scranton, the Yellow Jackets received a 9-8 win from sophomore 125-pounder Tyler Erwin (Granville/ Watkins Memorial), a 9-4 decision from senior 133-pounder Brian Bucher (Ottawa Hills/ Avon Lake), a 7-5 win from sophomore 149-pounder Cory Connell (Twinsburg), a 3-0 shutout win from senior 165-pounder Joe Incorvaia (Medina/ Highland), a 15-0 technical fall win by sophomore Andrew Scavuzzo (Cuyahoga Falls/ Woodridge) and a pin in 4:33 by freshman 197-pounder Ryan Tudor (Patsakala/ Watkins Memorial).
 
Despite the loss to Wilkes, Incorvaia won by a 3-2 decision and Scavuzzo pinned his opponent in 5:24. In the loss to SUNY-Oneonta, Bucher won by major decision, 16-6, and Incorvaia shut out his second opponent of the day by a 4-0 score. Inthe loss to King's, Bucher was the only victor with a 1-0 mark.
 
For the day, Incorvaia and Bucher led the way with 3-1 marks and Scavuzzo was 2-2.
 
The Yellow Jackets are back in action next Saturday, Nov. 22 when they travel to Olivet, Michigan to participate in the Olivet College Duals. The meet is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.
