AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's lacrosse team was selected third in the 2019 Ohio Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll.

Selected second a season ago, BW finished third of nine teams in the voting with 52 total points. Five-time defending OAC champion University of Mount Union landed atop the poll with 62 points and seven first-place votes. Capital University was chosen second with 53 points and two first-place votes, just two points in front of the Yellow Jackets. Rounding out the top five was John Carroll University in fourth and Otterbein University in fifth.

"We are excited to get this season started next Saturday and I'm happy to see us voted still in the top four of the OAC," head coach Nicholle St. Pierre said. "Our main goal this year is to exceed expectations and the team has been putting in the work this offseason and preseason to get us there."

St. Pierre, who is in her second season in Berea and fifth overall year as a head coach, returns 14 letterwinners and three All-OAC selections from last year's team that finished with a 7-10 overall record and a 5-3 mark in the OAC.

BW opens the 2019 season by hosting two consecutive non-conference games, beginning with Centre (Ky.) College on Saturday, Feb. 23, at 3:30 p.m. inside George Finnie Stadium.
