Complete All-Ohio Athletic Conference Team (.pdf)

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio- Six Baldwin Wallace University women's lacrosse student-athletes have been selected to the 2018 All-Ohio Athletic Conference team.

Junior midfielder Megan Patrick (Ravenna/Kent Roosevelt) was tabbed to the second team.  Senior attack Caitlin Wheeler (Lake Mills, Wis./Oak Park-River Forest {Ill.}), sophomore All-OAC midfielder Hannah Stein (Medina/Highland), senior defender Taylor Giordanengo (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) senior defender Lauryn Wright (Orrville) and junior All-OAC attack Hannah Albrechta (Uniontown/Green) each received an honorable mention selection.  

Patrick garners her second consecutive conference selection after being named to the first team a season ago. She appeared and started in all 17 games for the Yellow Jackets and was second on the team with a season-best and career-best 36 points (31 goals and five assists). The junior led the team by recording a season-best and career-best 53 groundballs, 79 draw controls and 31 caused turnovers. On March 9, the midfielder registered a career-high seven goals in a 22-12 win over Linfield (Ore.). For her career, Patrick has tallied a total of 91 points and 140 groundballs in 49 games.

In her final season for the Brown and Gold, Wheeler garners her first All-OAC selection after a career year. The senior led the team with a season-best and career-best 48 goals and 57 total points. She appeared in and started all 17 games at attack and tallied a season-best and career-best nine assists, 33 ground balls and 18 caused turnovers. With her sixth goal against Oberlin College on Feb. 28, the attack recorded her 100 career point and with her first goal against Muskingum on Mar. 24, she became just the second women's lacrosse player in program history to register 100 career goals. Wheeler is currently second all-time with 127 goals scored, third all-time with 151 total points and is tied for fifth all-time with 24 assists.

Stein earns her second consecutive conference honor after a second team selection as a freshmen a season ago. She appeared in 12 games and finished third on the team with a career-high 30 goals and second on the squad with a career-best 50 draw controls. The midfielder also set career-bests in assists (four) and points (34). In just two seasons, Stein has found the back of the net 34 times, has contributed a total of 41 points and won 83 draw controls in 29 appearances.

Giordanengo earns her first All-OAC honor after appearing in and starting all 17 games in her final season for the Jackets. She recorded a season-best 25 ground balls and was second on the team with a season-best and career-best 27 caused turnovers. The defender appeared in 63 games in her career and tallied 84 ground balls, caused 47 turnovers and scored two goals.

Appearing in and starting all 17 games, Wright garners her first All-OAC accolade. She registered a season-best and career-best 30 ground balls and won a draw control. The defender finished third on the team with a season-best and a career-best 21 caused turnovers. After taking last year off, the senior appeared in 40 career contests for the Brown and Gold. She scored a total of six goals, scooped up 57 ground balls and caused 37 turnovers in her career.

Albrechta picks up her second straight All-OAC honor after also being named as an honorable mention selection last season. The junior led the team with a career-high tying 16 assists throughout the 2018 campaign, adding in 19 goals for 35 total points. She recorded a season-best 19 ground balls, one draw control and three caused turnovers. In three seasons at BW, Albrechta has contributed a total of 137 points (94 goals and 43 assists), while picking up 63 ground balls and causing 27 turnovers.

BW finished the 2018 campaign with a 7-10 overall record and a 5-3 conference record under first year head coach Nicholle St. Pierre.
