AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Head Coach Kim Russell, senior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference midfielder Maddie Russell (Lakewood/Rocky River) and senior goalie Amanda Getto (Medina) highlight the Baldwin Wallace University women's lacrosse All-OAC accolades. Kim Russell was named the OAC Coach of the Year, Maddie Russell was selected as the OAC Midfielder of the Year as well as to the first-team and Getto was tabbed as the OAC Goalie of the Year as well as to the first-team. In addition, eight other student-athletes were selected to the All-OAC team.
Joining Maddie Russell and Getto on the first-team were senior midfielder Katie Kocher (Rocky River) and sophomore attack Megan Patrick (Ravenna/Kent Roosevelt). Junior midfielder Kayla Miller (Hudson) and freshman defender Hannah Stein (Medina/Highland) were selected to the second-team. Junior defenders Erica Eyerman (North Olmsted/Magnificat) and Taylor Giordanengo (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley), sophomore attack Hannah Albrechta (Uniontown/Green) and freshman attack Brie Martineau (Strongsville) were tabbed as honorable mention.

Kim Russell, who earned her first OAC Coach of the Year honor, led the Yellow Jackets to the OAC Tournament Championship game and a share of the OAC regular season title with its best finish in the OAC standing with a record of 7-1. She is the only coach in program history and has a career-record of 50-21 in five seasons and a record of 18-7 in conference play. Kim Russell has guided BW to a share of the OAC regular season crown in 2014 and 2017 and had led the team to the OAC Tournament championship in three of four years.
Maddie Russell becomes the first women's lacrosse player in OAC history to earn first-team honors in all four years. She was the OAC Defender of the Year in 2015. This season, Maddie Russell led the team in goals (38), ground balls (73), draw controls (56), caused turnovers (35) and free-positon goals (10) and was second on the team in points with 52 and tied for third in assists with 14. For her career, Maddie Russell is the school's all-time leader in ground balls (285), points (233), draw controls (199), caused turnovers (174), goals (152) and free position goals (41). She ranks second all-time in assists with 81. Maddie Russell is first among NCAA Division III active career leaders in caused turnovers and is second in ground balls. She is a candidate to earn her third Academic All-OAC honor and her second College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 7 selection.
Getto earns her second first-team All-OAC selection after being tabbed to the same team in 2015. This season, she won a career-best 13 games and made 199 saves and had career-best .509 save percentage. Getto, who transferred to BW after her freshman season, appeared in 31 career games with 20 victories. She is the school-record holder with 242 career saves and has a career save percentage of .494. Getto has also recorded 71 ground balls and scored five goals.
Kocher, who garners her fourth career All-OAC honor, was named to first-team for the second time in her career. She was a first-team selection in 2014 and a second-team selection each of the last two seasons. This season, Kocher led the team in points (53) and assists (38). She second in caused turnovers with 25 and third in ground balls with 37. For her career, Kocher ranks the all-time leaders in school history as she is first in assists (157), second in points (220), ground balls (171), draw controls (101) and caused turnovers (100) and seventh in goals (63). She ranks among the active career leaders in NCAA Division III as she is second in assists and seventh in assists-per-game with 2.42.
Patrick, who earns her first All-OAC accolade, was named to the first-team. This season, she scored 20 goals and added a career-best seven assists for 27 points. Patrick also tallied 41 ground balls, 16 caused turnovers and nine draw controls. She was named the OAC Defender of the Week on April 17 after she recorded a career-high 11 ground balls in a victory against Ohio Northern University. In two seasons, Patrick has recorded 87 ground balls, 55 points, 44 goals, 30 caused turnovers, 29 draw controls and 11 assists.
Miller, who garners her second All-OAC honor, was named to the second-team after being tabbed as honorable mention last season. This year, she was second the team in goals (33) and assists (16) and was third in points (49). Miller holds the school-record for goals in a game with 10. For her career, Miller ranks among the school leaders as she is second in goals (89), third in points (121) and assists (32), sixth in ground balls (77) and caused turnovers (33). She was named the OAC Offensive Player of the Week on two occasions last season.
Stein earns her first All-OAC accolade as she was named to the second-team. In her inaugural season, she recorded 33 draw controls, 23 ground balls, 17 caused turnovers, seven points, four goals and three assists.
Eyerman garners her first All-OAC honor as she was named honorable mention. This season, she recorded eight caused turnovers, five ground balls, four draw controls, three points, two goals and one assist. For her career, Eyerman has appeared in 44 games and has recorded 17 ground balls, 12 caused turnovers, 10 draw controls, seven points, four assists and three goals.
Giordanengo earns her first All-OAC accolade as she tabbed as honorable mention. This season, she tallied 13 ground balls, 10 caused turnovers, two draw controls and two goals. For her career, Giordanengo has appeared in 46 games, including 18 in goal. She has recorded 59 grounds balls, 20 caused turnovers, four ground balls, two goals and two points. Giordanengo filled in between the pipes last season and won 11 games and made 98 saves, which is good for third all-time in school history.
Albrechta garners her second All-OAC honor as she was named honorable mention for the second straight season. This season, she was fourth on the team with 27 goals and fourth in points with 38. Albrechta also tallied 22 ground balls, 13 caused turnovers and 11 assists. She sent the Yellow Jackets to the OAC Tournament championship game with her overtime game-winner in the semifinals. For her career, Albrechta has appeared in 35 games with 102 points, 75 goals, 43 ground balls, 27 assists, 23 caused turnovers and 12 draw controls.
Martineau earns her first All-OAC accolade as she was tabbed as honorable mention. In her inaugural season, she was second on the squad with 31 goals and fifth in points with 35. Martineau also tallied 25 ground balls, six caused turnovers, four assists and two draw controls.
BW finished the 2017 campaign with an overall record of 13-4 and finished as co-champions in the OAC regular season with a record of 7-1. The Yellow Jackets advanced to the OAC Tournament Championship game for the third time in four seasons.
