BEREA, Ohio – Sophomore midfielder Kayla Miller (Hudson) scored four goals and added two assists for six points to lead the Baldwin Wallace University women's lacrosse team to a 15-12 Ohio Athletic Conference victory over Otterbein University on Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium.

In addition to Milller, BW (9-4, 2-1 OAC) was led by freshman midfielder Megan Patrick (Ravenna / Kent Roosevelt) who scored a career-high three goals and added one assist for four points and junior midfielder Katie Kocher (Rocky River) scored two goals and added two assists for four points.

Otterbein (4-7, 2-1 OAC) was led by junior midfielder Katy Williams who scored three goals.

In the first half, the Yellow Jackets took an early 2-1 lead when freshman attack Hannah Albrechta (Uniontown / Green) scored via an assist from sophomore attack Caitlin Wheeler (River Forest, Ill. / Oak-Park River Forest) and Kocher scored via an assist from Miller with that goal coming at the 28:08 mark. BW increased their lead to 5-1 at the 18:39 mark by scoring three unanswered goals by Wheeler, Miller and senior attack Emma Harding (Akron / Revere). Each team scored five goals to close out the half with the Yellow Jackets goals coming from Kocher, freshman midfielder Hannah Fredriksen (Hamburg, N.Y.), Albrechta, Miller and Patrick to give BW a 10-6 lead going into halftime.

The Yellow Jackets started the second half by going on a 3-0 run to increase their lead to 13-6 when Miller completed the hat trick at the 26:14 mark. The Cardinals closed out the game by going on a 6-2 run to cut the lead down to 15-12, but BW held on for the victory.

Sophomore goalkeeper Taylor Giordanengo (Cranberry Township, Pa. / Seneca Valley) made nine saves and improved to 9-4 this season.

BW is back in action when it travels to Alliance to square off against the reigning OAC champion the University of Mount Union on Wednesday, April 20 for an OAC game inside Mount Union Stadium at 7:30 p.m.
