Women's Golf Tied For Third in the Mount Union Fall Invitational

ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team opened the 2020-21 campaign as it tied for third out of 11 teams at the Mount Union Fall Invitational at Tannehauf Golf Club in Alliance, Ohio. 

 

BW tied for third of 11 teams with 358 strokes on the 6,008 Tannehuaf layout.  Westminster (Pa.) College placed first with 347 strokes.

 

Leading the Yellow Jackets was senior Kelly Linnabary (Westerville / Central) as she tied for third place and finished with a round of 84. Freshmen Brooke Newsome (Clyde) tied for 11th place while carding a round of 89. Senior Leah Metzger (Ashland) carded a round of 91 while tying for 17th place. Sophomore Morgan Briley (Brunswick) posted a round of 94. Rounding out the top five was freshman Lauren Neher (Norwalk / Edison) with a round of 98.

 

Playing as individuals were freshman Lexy Kovach ( Strongsville / Magnificat) , sophomore Chloe Thomas (Norwalk),and senior Mary Fraley (Cleveland / Mayfield).  

 

Kovach led the individuals with a round of 113. Thomas posted a round of 114. Fraley carded a round of 124.

 

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday and Sunday, September 17-18 when they travel to Fostoria to compete in the Heidelberg Fall Invitational at the Fostoria Country Club.
