Yellow Jacket Women’s Golfers Finish Eighth at Wooster Spring Invitational

JEROMESVILLE, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team finished eighth at The College of Wooster Spring Invitational at the Mohican Hills Golf Club.

The Yellow Jackets finished in eighth of 11 teams after firing rounds of 392 and 379 for a two-day total of 771 on the on the par-72 and 5,841-yard Mohican Hills layout.   Denison was the invitational champion with a total of 655.  

Junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC player Laura Vidmar (Willoughby/ South) led BW as she carded rounds of 90 and 87 for a total of 177.   Vidmar tied for 15th of 63 golfers.

In addition, freshman Carly Alexander (Hinckley/ Medina Highland) carded rounds of 99 and 91 for a two-round total of 190.  Alexander tied for 33rd. Senior Shannon Stamper (Westlake) playing in just her second career collegiate event had rounds of 102 and for a total of 196. Junior Nikki Gannon (North Ridgeville) finished with a total of 208, including firing a career-best 101 in the first round.   

The Yellow Jackets close out the season on Saturday and Sunday, April 25 and 26 when they travel to West Lafayette to compete in the OAC Championships hosted the University of Mount Union at the River Greens Golf Course.
