Vidmar is Medalist; BW Women’s Golf Finishes Sixth at ONU Spring Equinox Women's Classic

HARROD, Ohio -- Junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference player Laura Vidmar (Willoughby/South) fired a career-best round of 79 and was the Medalist as the Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team finished sixth at the Ohio Northern University Spring Equinox Women's Classic at the Colonial Golfers Club.

The two-day tournament was shortened to just one day due to due to adverse course conditions this morning.   

BW shot a team score of 385 on the par 72 and 6,173-yard Colonia Golfer Club layout.  NCAA Division II Ursuline College captured the title with a score of 335.  Otterbein University was second with 355 while Capital and Ohio Northern tied for third with 372.  NCAA Division II Lourdes was fifth with 383 while Anderson (Ind.) and Heidelberg finished seventh and eight with scores of 402 and 431, respectively.

In addition to Vidmar for the Yellow Jackets, senior Shannon Stamper (Westlake) shot a 97 in her first collegiate tournament.  Freshman Karly Alexander (Hinckley/Medina Highland) and junior Nikki Gannon (North Ridgeville) had rounds of 101 and 109, respectively.

BW is back in action on Saturday and Sunday, April 11 and 12 when it travels to Ostrander to compete in the Laura Bump Invitational hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University at the Mill Creek Golf Club.
