POWELL, OHIO --  Freshman Karly Alexander (Hinckley/Medina Highland) was the low individual player in terms of non-team scoring and a pair of Baldwin Wallace University women's golfers competed at this week's Ohio Wesleyan University Fall Invitational Tournament at the Safari Club. It was the second fall tournament of the season for the Yellow Jackets.

Alexander, who carded rounds of a career-low 84 and an 87 for a 171-stroke total on the par-72 and 5,823-yard Safari Club layout, had the low individual score for a student-athlete not associated with a team result. Because BW only had two student-athletes competing at OWU, it did not qualify as a team (mininum of four players).

In addition, junior Nikki Gannon (North Ridgeville) had rounds of 109 and a career-low 103 for a 36-hole total of 212 strokes. In four rounds this fall, Gannon has shaved 15 strokes off of her first round total, and Alexander has carved 10 off her first round of the fall.

The Yellow Jackets are idle next weekend but will be back in on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 27-28 when they travel to Wooster, Ohio to participate in The College of Wooster Eva Shorb Weiskopf Invitational at the Wooster Country Club.

The BW women's golf program has captured three of the last four Ohio Athletic Conference titles and made three appearances in the last four years in the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament. Since 2000, BW has qualified for the Division III national tourney five times.
