BW Women’s Golf Team is Sixth After First Day of OAC Tourney

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team stands sixth after the first day of the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament at the River Greens Golf Club. The second and final day of the tourney is on Sunday.

The Yellow Jackets carded a round of 379 on the par-72 and 5,800-yard River Greens layout to stand sixth of eight total teams.

Leading the way was junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC student-athlete Laura Vidmar (Willoughby/ South) as she shot a tea-leading 92. She was followed by senior Shannon Stamper (Westlake) with a 93, freshman Karly Alexander (Hinckley/ Medina Highland) with a 95 and junior Nikki Gannon (North Ridgeville) with a career-best 99.

The winner of the OAC Tournament receives an automatic berth into the 2015 NCAA Division III National Tournament. BW has won three of the past four OAC tourney titles and advanced to the NCAA tourney five times in school history.
