ACADEMIC MAJOR: Sociology
BALDWIN WALLACE ATHLETICS INFORMATION: As a sophomore in 2013-2014, Sam Hamar played her second season of basketball at Baldwin Wallace University and earned her second varsity letter.
In addition to playing basketball at BW, Sam is a member of the BW Sports Information student staff. Her work-study responsibilities include working on athletics publications and special graphics projects.
GENERAL BASKEBALL INFORMATION: As a freshman in 2012-2013, Sam played in her first season of basketball and earned her first varsity letter. She appeared in 13 games and averaged 2.5 points and 2.1 rebounds-per-game. She also had two assists, nine blocked shots and one steal. She scored a season-high six points in an 89-45 win against Bluffton University on Dec. 28. BW finished 16-9 overall.
As a sophomore in 2013-14, Sam competed in her second season of basketball and earned her second varsity letter. She appeared 29 games, averaging 4.4 points and 4.1 rebounds-per-game. Sam also registered a team-high 32 blocks, seven assists, and five steals. She scored a career-high 10 points and grabbed a career-high seven rebounds in a 96-83 win versus Ohio Northern University on December 4, 2013. BW was the OAC regular season co-champs and advanced to the NCAA Division III National Tournament.
OTHER GROUPS: Sam is a student assistant and graphics specialist in the sports information office. The 2013-2014 men's and women's basketball game programs were designed by Sam.

HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION: Sam grew up in Galion, Ohio and graduated from Galion Senior High School. She played basketball and earned two varsity letters.
As a senior, Sam was an honorable mention All-North Central League and All-District. She also was named as an OHSAA (Ohio High School Athletic Association) "Courageous Athlete" Award.
