Camarati Earns Sixth Career OAC Softball Pitcher of the Week Accolade

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University softball All-Ohio Athletic Conference right-handed pitcher Nikki Camarati (Brunswick/Holy Name) has been named the OAC Softball Pitcher for the second time in the last three weeks and for the sixth time in her career.

Camarati led BW to 4-0 victories over Otterbein Last weekend as she had a record of 3-0 with 37 strikeouts and four walks in 20 innings pitched.   She started off the weekend with a 4-1 victory on Saturday as she allowed the one run on three hits with two walks.  Camarati, who pitched both games on Sunday, won the opener as she pitched a one hit and scoreless sixth inning affair with 12 strikes outs and no walks.  Camarati closed out her impressive weekend with a 2-1 victory as she allowed one run on four hits with 11 strikeouts and two walks. 

This season, she has a record of 8-1 and her eight wins is tied for first in the OAC.  Camarati leads the league in strikeouts with 106, which is 66 more than second place.  She is second in the conference in earned run average (ERA) with a 2.27.

For her career, Camarati has appeared 47 games with 37 starts.   She has record of 29-8 with three saves.   Camarati ranks second on the schools' all-time ERA list with 1.61, is third all-time in strikeouts with 328 and is ninth in career wins with 29.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, April 10 when it travels to University Heights for an OAC doubleheader against crosstown rival John Carroll University on Bracken Field at 1 p.m.   BW returns home on Sunday, April 11 for an OAC doubleheader against John Carroll on the BW Softball Field at the Roehm Athletic Complex at 1 p.m.
