BETHANY, W. Va. -- The Baldwin Wallace University softball team splits a rescheduled non-conference doubleheader on the road at Bethany College.  It was the sixth game in three days for the Yellow Jackets.

BW (16-17) won the first game by a score of 2-0, which was the fourth shutout of the season for the Yellow Jackets.   Bethany (13-19) rallied from a 6-0 deficit to win the second game by a score of 9-7.

In game one, the BW offense scored two runs on 12 hits.   The Yellow Jackets got the only two runs of the game in the top of third inning as junior first baseman Mackenzie Brua (Avon) led off the inning with a double and later scored on the run batted-in (RBI) double by senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference designated player Tabitha Murray (Mogadore/Field).  After advancing to third on a wild pitch, Murray scored on the RBI single by senior All-OAC Lauren Feciuch (Kent/Field).

Murray led the BW offensive attack as she went a perfect 4-for-4 with a double, run scored and RBI.  Freshman third baseman DJ Rogers (Warren/Champion) and freshman pitcher Samantha Dostall (Oberlin/Firelands) each went 2-for-4.  Feciuch was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

On the mound, Dostall recorded her first career shutout and kept the Bison hitters at bay with a four-hit and career-high 10 strikeout performance.   Dostall allowed just four hits and walked three other batters as she evened her record to 4-4 on the season.

In game two, the Yellow Jackets scored seven runs on seven hits.  BW jumped out to an early 6-0 lead after the first inning before Bethany scored a run in the second, five in the third and three in the fourth.   The Yellow Jackets tacked on one in the top of the seventh.

Murray again led the BW offensive attack as she went 2-for-4 with a homerun, two runs scored and an RBI.   Sophomore rightfielder Alison Fiorucci (Seven Hills/Holy Name) led five other Yellow Jacket hitters with one hit as she went 1-for-4 with two RBI.

On the mound, freshman Darcy Daniel (Sandusky/Perkins) suffered the loss as she pitched two innings and allowed five runs (four earned) on five hits with three walks.   Freshman Erica Morgan (Brook Park/Midpark) pitched the final four innings and allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits with two strikeouts and a walk.
