OBERLIN, Ohio – In its final race before the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships, the Baldwin Wallace University men's cross country team placed seventh in the Inter-Regional Rumble, hosted by Oberlin College.

The men finished seventh out of 31 teams with 250 points.

Sophomore Isaac Wilson (Tylersburg, Pa./North Clarion) was the top finisher with a time of 26:16.8 to finish 30th out of 264 runners.

The next four runners for BW all set new career-best 8k times. Freshmen Josh Hickmott (Clay, N.Y./Liverpool) and Jose Reynoso (Painesville/Harvey) crossed the finish line eight seconds apart from each other. Hickmott finished in 43rd place with a time of 26:38.6, two seconds faster than his previous career-best, while Reynoso placed 50th with a time of 26:44.5, improving on his career-best time by 36.2 seconds.

Junior Spencer Mahon (North Royalton) and sophomore Nick Irwin (Westlake) rounded out the top five. Mahon finished 63rd with a career-best time of 26:53.9, just over six seconds better than his previous career-best, while Irwin placed 65th with a time of 26:55.6, improving on his previous career-best time by 17.4 seconds.

With two weeks until the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships, the Yellow Jackets will fine tune their training to turn in more career-best times and improve on last year's sixth place finishes.

BW will travel to Tiffin for the OAC Championships hosted by Heidelberg University on Saturday, Oct. 28.
