Complete 2022 MCVL Men's Volleyball Preseason Coaches' Poll

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) has conducted its annual preseason poll, with Baldwin Wallace University men's volleyball being picked tied for fifth out of nine teams.

The Yellow Jackets finished with a 6-10 overall record last year in their inaugural season. BW is hoping to improve and move up in the ranks in this year's campaign. The Yellow Jackets finish above Wittenberg University (seventh place) and Wabash (Ind.) College (eighth place), who are also second-year programs. Second-year Head Coach Kyle Mars will look to lead his first team into the top portion of the conference.

Fontbonne (Mo.) University comes it at the top spot in the preseason poll with 64 total points and eight first-place votes, followed by fellow Ohio Athletic Conference member the University of Mount Union with 56 points and the final first-place vote. Trine (Ind.) University notched the third-place spot (46 pts) and Mount St. Joseph University finishes in fourth with 45 points.

Tied with BW in the fifth spot is Adrian (Mich.) College to round out the top half of the league in a tie. Picked to finish last was Olivet (Mich.) College.

Baldwin Wallace will do the honor of serving up the first MCVL match of the season, when the Yellow Jackets will face Olivet about halfway through the season. The Yellow Jackets will begin the 2022 campaign on Tuesday, January 18 starting at 7:00 p.m. as BW takes on St. Norbert (Wis.) College in Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center.
