Men's Track and Field Place Opens Outdoor Season at the Washington & Lee Carnival

LEXINGTON, Va. - The Baldwin Wallace University men's track and field teams began the outdoor season at the the Washington & Lee Carnival(Va.) at Wilson Field. 

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:

  • Junior All-OAC ShaDaryll Clark II (Brook Park/Berea-Midpark) won the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 15.10 seconds.
  • Sophomore Carter Almady (Brunswick) placed fourth in the 3000m steeplechase in a time of 10:12.79. 
  • Freshmen Connor Foody (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Allegheny) placed 21st in the 1500m with a time of 4:08.72 and finished 18th in the 800m with a time of 1:59.66.
  • Sophomore All-OAC Gehrig Stanley (Twinsburg / Benedictine) placed 26th in the 5000m run in a time of 16:33.12.
  • Freshmen Joe Kelly (Lakewood) placed 15th in the in the 10000m in a time of 34:40.18.
     

Field event highlights:

  • Freshmen All-OAC Mason Kiesel (New London / South Central) placed second in shot put with a distance of 13.96m. 
  • Sophomore Christian Pfeiffer (Amherst) placed fourth in the high jump with a height of 1.86m
  • Senior Jake Mantle (North Royalton) placed 11th in hammer throw with a distance of 39.72m 
  • Sophomore Joe Barnes (West Plains, Mo.) finsihed in 12th in discus throw with a distance 37.69m and 13th in javelin throw with a distance of 43.51m.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action Friday, March 25th for a two day meet in Pittsburgh, PA at Carnegie Mellon Invitational inside Gesling Stadium.
