Complete USTFCCCA All-Academic Selections
NEW ORLEANS – Baldwin Wallace University junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference thrower Ted Achladis (Avon Lake/Elyria Catholic) has earned United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Honors, as announced by the organization Monday morning.
To qualify for the honor, a student-athlete must have at least a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 and above and also met one of the following standards:
- Have competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship
- Finished the regular season ranked in the national top-50 in an individual event or ranked in the national top-35 in a relay event on the official NCAA Descending Order List.
Achladis reels in his third straight USTFCCCA All-Academic accolade with a 3.82 GPA in middle childhood education. The junior earned Indoor USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region honors in shot put and was an All-OAC performer in the discus. Achladis was also an Academic All-OAC selection and a Dean's List student.
Additionally, the Baldwin Wallace men's track and field program was recognized as one of 113 men's USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams this year courtesy of a 3.14 team cumulative GPA. In order to earn this recognition, a program must finish highly at the respective National Championship meet and have at least a 3.00 cumulative team GPA. BW finished tied for 21st overall at the National Championship meet thanks to two All-American finishers.
The Yellow Jackets finished the 2019 season with a sixth-place finish at both the OAC Indoor Championships and Outdoor Championships.
