Achladis Earns First Career OAC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week Honor

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University men's track and field freshman thrower Ted Achladis (Avon Lake/Elyria Catholic) earned his first career Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week honor for his strong performance last weekend.

Achladis led BW to a third place finish in the 48th Annual Sparky Adams Invitational with three top-10 finishes. He won the discus event with a career-best toss of 155 feet 11 inches, placed third in the hammer throw with a career-best mark of 135' 7'' and finished seventh in the shot put with a throw of 44' 10.25''.

In the indoor season, Achladis posted career-best marks in the shot put and weight throw at the Polar Bear Last Chance Invitational hosted by Ohio Northern University. He recorded marks of 48' 7.5'' in the shot put and 41' 4.5'' in the weight throw.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Friday and Saturday, April 28 and 29 when they travel to Muskingum for the Ohio Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships hosted by Muskingum University on the Johnson Family Track. On Friday, the field events start at 12 p.m. and running events begin at 4:10 p.m.
