BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team shut out Capital University in the Ohio Athletic Conference regular season finale by a final score of 9-0 on the Pop Collins Tennis Court.
BW (14-6, 3-3 OAC) won three doubles and six singles matches over Capital (2-15, 1-4 OAC).
Doubles
- Junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC Matt McGee (Ottawa Hills) and sophomore All-OAC Will Horvath (Oregon/Clay) won at first doubles by a score of 8-2
- Sophomore Henry Harders (Ottawa Hills) and Jacob Weingart (Tiffin/Columbian) won at second doubles by a score of 8-1
- Junior All-OAC Aidan Hicks (Oneida, N.Y.) and junior Tyler Perkins (Geneva) won at third doubles by forfeit
Singles
- McGee won at first singles by scores of 6-2 and 6-3
- Horvath won at second singles by scores of 6-2 and 6-1
- Sophomore Gavin Binni (Sylvania/Northview) won at third singles by scores of 6-3 and 6-1
- Weingart won at fourth singles by identical scores of 6-1
- Harders won at fifth singles by scores of 6-1
- Junior All-OAC Adam Zeidler (Bay Village/Bay) won at sixth singles by forfeit
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Tuesday, April 30 when they host an OAC Tournament quarterfinals match against the University of Mount Union at 3:30 p.m.
The OAC Tournament Semifinals and Championship will be contested on Friday and Saturday, May 3 and 4 in Ada on the West Campus Tennis Courts on the campus of Ohio Northern University.
