Men's Tennis Suffers First Loss of Season, Falls to Ohio Northern

BEREA, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team suffered its first loss of the season as it fell to Ohio Northern University in an Ohio Athleic Conference match by a final score of 9-0 on the Pop Collins Tennis Courts.

BW (1-1, 1-1 OAC) opened the matched by dropping all three doubles.  The number one tandem of senior Michael Benotti (Pittsford, N.Y./Mendon) and sophomore Trey Kernan (Penfield, N.Y.) fell in a highly contested match by a score of 8-5.

The Yellow Jackets were unable to mount a comeback as they dropped all six singles matches.  Kernan battled at No. 1 singles but came up short by scores of 6-2 and 6-1.  Bennotti had a hard fought match at No. 2 singles but also fell by scores of 6-1 and 6-2.

BW returns to action on Saturday, April 17 when it travels to Westerville for an OAC match against Otterbein University on the Otterbein Tennis Courts at 1 p.m.
