CLEVELAND – In the two teams' rescheduled Ohio Athletic Conference match, the Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team fell to the defending regular season and tournament champion John Carroll University 7-2 at the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion on the campus of Cleveland State University.

BW (9-3, 0-2 OAC) dropped two of its three doubles matches and trailed heading into singles play. Junior Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar Athlete and All-OAC players Dominic Polifrone (Hudson) and Matt Harris (Akron/Revere) battled the Blue Streaks (4-7, 2-0 OAC) top players in Dillon O'Brien and Gustavo Garcia all the way to the Yellow Jackets' first point of the afternoon. O'Brien and Garcia proved to be formidable opponents as Harris and Polifrone needed a tiebreaker to secure the 9-8(3) victory.

The Yellow Jackets second and last point of the morning also came at the hands of Polifrone. The junior had taken the first set in a tiebreaker and held a 2-0 lead in the second set before his opponent retired while John Carroll won the other five matches for the 7-2 overall victory.

BW will look to earn its first OAC victory on Wednesday, April 11, when the Yellow Jackets travel to Ada to take on Ohio Northern University at 3:30 p.m. at the University Tennis Courts.
