Men's Swimming and Diving Complete Day One of OAC Championships in Fourth Place

AKRON, Ohio -  The Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving team finished in fourth place on the first day of the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Mount Union at University of Akron inside Ocasek Natatorium.

The Yellow Jackets individual highlights included:

  • Freshman Austin Kingsley (Northport, N.Y.) placed sixth in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 4:49.82.
  • Freshman Tommie McQueary (Batavia/Bethel Tate) placed sixth in the 200-yard individual medley in a time a of 1:56.75 

BW relays were highlighted by:

  • The 200-yard freestyle squad of freshmen Luke Minick (Stow / Archbishop Hoban), McQueary, freshmen Will Bolin (Mansfield / Ontario) and sophomore Mason Kooyman (Concord Township / Chardon) placed fourth in a time of 1:27.11.
  • The 400-yard medley relay of freshmen Jason Tafoya (El Paso, Texas / El Paso), McQueary, Minick, and junior Austin Olsavsky (Medina) placed third in a time of 3:36.26.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action tomorrow for day two of the OAC Championships at University of Akron inside Ocasek Natatorium. Preliminary action begins each day at 10 a.m. with finals at 6 p.m.
