Lewis Garners First Career OAC Men’s Swimming and Diving Weekly Honor

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University freshman stroker Michael Lewis (Lancaster) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week for the first tme in his career.

Lewis led BW with a victory and a runner-up in a loss to NCAA Division II Rollins College during its winter break training trip in Winter Park, Florida.   He won the 50-yard breaststroke in a career-best time of 27.34 seconds and was second in the 100-yard individual medley in a career-best time of 55.88.   In addition, Lewis swam the third leg on the winning 200-yard medley relay team that touched the wall in a time of 1:04.19. 

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Friday, January 11 when it travels to Canton for a non-conference dual meet against NCAA Division II Malone University in the C.T. Branin Natatorium at 7 p.m.   BW returns to OAC action on Friday, January 18 when it travels to Ada to take on Ohio Northern University in ONU Sports Center Natatorium at 7 p.m.   The Yellow Jackets return home on Saturday, January 19 for an OAC dual meet against crosstown rival John Carroll University in the BW Natatorium inside the Lou Higgins Center at 1 p.m.
