INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Baldwin Wallace University senior breaststroker Tyler Thompson (Broadview Heights/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) closed out his illustrious career at the NCAA Division III Championships at the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis Natatorium.

Thompson, who was an All-American in the 100-yard breaststroke as a sophomore, finished 17th in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 55.93 seconds. On Wednesday night, he set a career-best time of 21.42 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle, which was an optional race that he chose to swim.

Earlier this season, Thompson became just the third OAC male swimmer to win three consecutive 100-yard breaststroke championships.   He won his third straight title and qualified for the national meet with a time of 55.00 seconds.

For his career, Thompson was a seven-time All-OAC performer and a five-time OAC Champion.  He is the OAC-record holder in the 100-yard breaststroke and holds the school-record in the 100-yard breaststroke, the 200-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard individual medley.  Also, Thompson is a member of the BW Natatorium-record 200-medley relay team.
