Men's Soccer's Defense Holds Strong in Scoreless Tie with Mount Union

ALLIANCE, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team fought to a scoreless tie with Mount Union University in an Ohio Athletic Conference match at Kehres Stadium.

BW Leaders (9-1-2, 0-1-1 OAC)

  • Sophomore goalkeeper Zoltan Nagy (Lakewood/St. Edwardtallied nine saves to maintain a clean sheet.
  • BW's defense recorded its fifth shutout in just twelve games this season.

Mount Union Leaders (5-2-4, 0-1-1 OAC)

  • Mount Union sophomore goalkeeper Lucas Fields recorded one save on BW's sole shot on goal.
  • Junior forward Jamon McCort led the Purple Raiders attack with four shots on goal. 

First Half (Tie, 0-0)

  • Mount Union outshot the Yellow Jackets 10-2 in the first half and recorded all four shots on goal.
  • BW earned the sole corner kick of the first half.

Second Half (Tie, 0-0)

  • The Purple Raiders were awarded a penalty kick in the 53rd minute, which Nagy saved to keep the match tied.
  • The Yellow Jackets recorded eight second-half shots, including one shot on goal.
  • Mount Union notched eleven second-half shots, including five shots on goal.
  • BW led the half with five saves.

The Yellow Jackets return to action on Saturday, October 8 when the team hosts Wilmington College in an OAC contest at Tressel Field inside of the George Finnie Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
