Men’s Soccer Falls at Case Western

CLEVELAND, Ohio—The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team was defeated by cross-town rival Case Western Reserve University, 4-0, in a non-conference game on DiSanto Field.

In the game BW (0-3) was outshot 16-11 by CWRU (2-1). The Yellow Jackets did not score in the contest, but put eight of their 11 shots on net.

The Spartans scored two goals in the first half. Sophomore defender Alex Besl scored in the fifth minute and sophomore midfielder Brady Daulton scored in the 42nd minute to give Case Western a 2-0 lead.

Right before halftime, BW had two scoring opportunities as freshman forward Danny Ruple (Berea/ Berea-Midpark) had his first attempt blocked and his second hit the crossbar. 

At the 76:11 mark senior midfielder Joshua Prosser scored from inside the box to make it 3-0 and sophomore midfielder Jake Micham scored the last goal of the game at the 86:15 mark.

BW senior goalkeeper Ryan Asbury (Cincinnati / Turpin) made four saves for the Yellow Jackets.

BW is back in action on September 9-10 when it travels to Fredonia, New York for the two-day Blue Devil tournament hosted by Fredonia State (N.Y.). On day one BW will face Buffalo State (N.Y.) at 1 p.m. and on day two they square off against Fredonia at 4:30 p.m.
