Men’s Soccer Upended by Buffalo State (N.Y.)

FREDONIA, New York—The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team was defeated by Buffalo State (N.Y.) University, 4-1, on day one of the Fredonia Blue Devil/Clarion Hotel Classic hosted by Fredonia State (N.Y.) University inside University Stadium.

Sophomore forward Logan Davis (Hinckley/Medina Highland) scored the lone goal for BW (0-4). 

Buffalo State (3-1) was led by junior forward Tristan Myers as he netted a hat trick with three goals. 

The Bengals opened the scoring when junior defender Danny Clavin connected with Myers for his first goal of the contest at the 19:52 mark. The Yellow Jackets evened the score at 1-1 in the 43rd minute as Davis scored his first goal of the season and the second of his career. Buffalo State took the lead for good in the final minute of the first half when sophomore midfielder Bass Sarr scored the game-winner.

In the second half, Myers closed out the scoring with unassisted goals in the 54th and 64th minutes.

Senior goalkeeper Ryan Asbury (Cincinnati / Turpin) made five saves for the Yellow Jackets.

Tomorrow, BW will face Fredonia State on the final day of the tournament inside University Stadium at 4:30 p.m.
