Davis’ Career Day Lifts Men’s Soccer to Home Opener Victory over Bluffton

BEREA, Ohio— Sophomore forward Logan Davis (Hinckley/Medina Highland) led the Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team to, 3-0 victory in their home opener in the night cap of the women's and men's doubleheader on Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium.

Davis scored a career-high two goals for BW (1-6). Along with Davis, freshman forward Danny Ruple (Berea/Midpark) scored his first career goal and assist. 

Bluffton (2-2) was led by, senior goalkeeper Matt Hardman-Zimmerman as he made seven saves for the Beavers

The Yellow Jackets outshot the Beavers 14-3, but Hardman-Zimmerman held BW to just one goal in the first half when Davis netted his first goal of the game at the 30:25 mark.

In the second half Davis scored his second goal of the game and was assisted by Ruple. In the 63rd minute Ruple netted his first career goal and the final goal of the contest.  

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Wednesday, September 21 when they host Oberlin College in a non-conference game on Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium at 7 p.m.
