Men’s Soccer Scores Five Goals in Win vs. Waynesburg (Pa.)

WAYNESBURG, Pennsylvania—The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team defeated Waynesburg (Pa.) University, 5-1, Saturday afternoon inside John F. Wiley Stadium.

Waynesburg (0-7) scored first in the 11th minute when Victor Browne got a shot past the Yellow Jackets (3-4-1) goaltender.

BW scored three unanswered goals to take a 3-1-halftime lead. Junior defender Adam Grove (Indianapolis, Ind./ North Central) scored his first goal of the season at the 15:20 mark, three minutes later the Yellow Jackets took the lead when junior forward Craig Wallace (Boxford, Mass./Tilton) scored his team-leading fourth goal of the season, and nine minutes before halftime freshman forward Ryan Hassell (Southhampton, BERMUDA/Western ReserveAcademy) headed in a ball for his first goal as a Yellow Jacket.

In the second half BW added to its lead when Hassell netted his second goal of the game and senior forward Aaron Harden (Mentor) scored his second goal of the year.

Senior goalkeeper Zach Haynes (Medina) was credited with the win and is 3-4-1 this season.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action Wednesday, September 23 when they host Oberlin College on Tressel Field inside of George Finne Stadium at 7:30 p.m.
