Men’s Soccer Falls Short Against Penn St.-Behrend

ERIE, Pennsylvania —The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team was defeated by Penn State-Behrend, 2-1, Saturday afternoon in the first round of the Herb Lauffer Tournament on Behrend Field.

In a first half full of strong defensive play the Lions (1-0) scored the only goal at the 4:21 mark.

In the second half the Yellow Jackets (1-1) evened the score when junior midfielder Patrick O'Malley (Sheridan, Ind./Westfield) scored his second goal of the season. Sophomore midfielder Justin Herrin (Santee, Calif./West Hills) was credited with the assist.

With nine minutes left in regulation Penn State-Behrend scored the game-winning goal to put them in the championship game Sunday afternoon.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action Sunday, September 6 in the consolation game against Hiram College at Penn State-Behrend on Behrend Field at 12 p.m.
