BW Men’s Soccer Team Falls to No. 11 Ohio Northern

ADA, Ohio --  The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team lost to No. 11-nationally ranked Ohio Northern University, 4-0, in an Ohio Athletic Conference match at Kerscher Stadium.

The Polar Bears (10-3, 2-1 OAC) opened the scoring in the 20th minute when freshman forward Matt Kinkopf scored to make the score 1-0.  

Kinkopf scored his second goal and increased ONU's lead to 2-0 in the 33rd-minute.

Less than a minute later sophomore midfielder Shintaroh Itoh widened the margin for the Polar Bears with a goal for a 3-0 lead.  

In the second half, ONU freshman midfielder Austin Horton scored in the 76th-minute to give the Polar Bears a 4-0 advantage and end the scoring.    

The Polar Bear's outshot the Yellow Jackets (4-7-3, 2-1 OAC) by a 21-10 count but lost the corner kick battle 4-3.

Baldwin Wallace is back in action on Tuesday, October 15 when they travel to Tiffin, Ohio to play OAC-rival Heidelberg University at 7:00 p.m. at Mayer Field. The next home game is on Saturday, Oct. 19 when the team hosts Wilmington College in the second game of a men's and women's OAC soccer doubleheader on the Tressel Field inside The George Finnie Stadium at 7 p.m. The women play at 4:30 p.m.
