BALDWIN WALLACE ATHLETICS INFORMATION: As a senior in 2013, Judson played in his fourth season of soccer and earned his fourth varsity letter
ACADEMIC HONORS AT BW: Judson carries an outstanding 3.91 grade point average and is a member of the Dean's List. As a sophomore in 2011-12, he was named as a first-team CAPITAL ONE Academic All-District 7 student-athlete and as an honorable mention Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference player. He also was honored at the 2011-12 Student-Athlete & Faculty Recognition Luncheon for having the Highest Grade Point Average on the men's soccer team (3.94) and as a Jacket Scholar. As a junior in 2011-2012, Judson was selected both Academic All-OAC and third-team Academic All-Ohio and first-team CAPITAL ONE Academic All-District 7. In 2012-2013, Judson was inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma Athletics Honor Society.
GENERAL SOCCER INFORMATION: As a freshman in 2010, Judson competed in his first season of soccer and earned his first varsity letter as a defender. He started all 22 games, took 18 total shots, including nine on-goal, and recorded one assist. BW finished 12-6-4 overall.
As a sophomore in 2011, Judson played in his second season of soccer and earned his second varsity letter as a key member of the defense. Despite battling injuries that caused him to miss seven matches, he started 15 matches, took 12 total shots, including four on-goal, but did not score. Judson helped the team compile a school-record 16 victories and a 16-6 record and earn an At-Large berth to the 2011 NCAA Division III National Tournament. For his efforts both on and off the field, he was a first-team CAPITAL ONE Academic All-District 7 student-athlete and was tabbed as an honorable mention Academic All-OAC player.
As a junior in 2012, Judson competed in his third season of soccer and earned his third varsity letter as a member of the defense. Despite battling nagging injuries for the second straight season, he started 10 of 17 matches, took five total shots, including one on-goal, but did not score. Judson was selected both Academic All-OAC and third-team Academic All-Ohio and first-team CAPITAL ONE Academic All-District 7. BW finished 7-6-4 overall.
As a senior in 2013-2014, Judson played his fourth season of soccer, earned his fourth varsity letter and was a team captain. He played and started all 21 matches, took acareer-high 20 shots, including five on-goal, and had one assist. He played a key role on defense and helped BW record four shutouts. He earned Academic All-OAC honors for the third straight year, Academic All-Ohio accolades for the second time and received honorable mention All-East Region honors by the NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America). Judson was also voted team Most Valuable Player by his peers. BW finished 7-11-3 overall.
Judson is a member of the Pre-Med Club and the BW Bio League.
HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION: Judson Sprandel grew up in Akron, Ohio and graduated from Green High School. He played four years of soccer and earned four varsity letters.
Judson was an honorable mention All-Suburban League pick in 2006. He was tabbed honorable mention All-SL and and as the Green H.S. Most Valuable Player in 2007. In 2008, Judson was a team captain and named first-team All-SL, first team All-District and team MVP. In 2009, he again was a team captain and earned first-team All-SL, first-team All-District, team MVP and the "Coaches" award. For his career, Judson scored 17 goals and 14 assists for 48 total points.
Judson was a four-year Scholar-Athlete, a four-year member of the Academic Team, Top-25, Green High School Wall of Fame and graduated Summa Cum Laude.
