BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College men's soccer team tied Ohio Athletic Conference rival the University of Mount Union, 1-1, in double overtime tonight (Tuesday, October 19, 2010) on the pitch of Mount Union Stadium.  This marked the second straight double overtime 1-1 tie for the Yellow Jackets.

With its tie, B-W is now 8-5-4 overall and 1-3-2 OAC.  The University of Mount Union is now 8-5-2 overall and 3-2-1 in the OAC.

The Purple Raiders opened the scoring at the 35:59 mark of the first half when Leo Hicks put one in the net from 25 yards out.  The Yellow Jackets responded at the 42:41 mark when sophomore midfielder Pat Brennan (Akron/Walsh Jesuit) tied the game at 1-1.  Senior forward Tyler Leister (Stow/Stow Munroe Falls) recorded his team leading sixth assist with a beautiful cross to Brennan, who then beat the keeper for the goal. 

Neither team was able to find the back of the net for the remainder of the game.

B-W equaled Mount Union in total shots with 19, and the Purple Raiders outcornered the Yellow Jackets, 13-8.

In goal, sophomore Ryan Hulings (Centerville) faced 19 Mount Union shots and made a career-high 10 saves.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action this Saturday, Oct. 23 when they travel to Wilmington, Ohio to play the Wilmington College Quakers at 7:00 p.m.  B-W ten returns home to play its final two regular season matches when it hosts OAC and Cleveland cross-town rival John Carroll University on Wednesday, Oct. 27 at 7:00 p.m. at The George Finnie Stadium and then hosts Muskingum University on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 7:00 p.m.

The Oct. 30 doubleheader between B-W and OAC rival Muskingum University will be taped and then shown on a delay basis by regional cable network SportsTime Ohio (www.sportstimeohio.com). The women's game begins at 4:30 p.m. and men play at 7:00 p.m.  The women's game will be shown on October 30 at 9:00 p.m. and again on Monday, November 1 at 5:00 a.m.  The men's game will be aired on Sunday, Oct. 31 at 3:30 p.m. and on Monday, Nov. 1 at 7:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon.
