Men's Soccer Team Shuts Out Mount Saint Joseph, 3-0, in Cincinnati

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College men's soccer team defeated the College of Mount St. Joseph, 3-0, tonight, (Wednesday, September 29, 2010) in a non-league match at Schueler Field in Cincinnati.

With the win, B-W is now 7-2-2 overall, and next plays on Saturday, October 2, when they travel to Marietta to play in their first Ohio Athletic Conference game of the season at 1:00 p.m. With the loss, Mount St. Joseph is now 2-6-1 overall.

In the first half, the Yellow Jackets opened the scoring at the 6:51 mark when junior All-OAC forward Carlin Vandendriessche (Medina/Senior) scored his sixth goal of the season off a pass from junior midfielder Andy Thompson (Huron).  Then at the 31:47 mark, senior forward Tyler Leister (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) scored off an assist by junior forward Noah Eubanks (West Bloomfield, Mich.) to extend the Yellow Jackets lead to 2-0 going into halftime.

In the second half, junior defender Pete Childerson (Alliance/Senior) scored his first career goal at the 66:19 mark to put the game out of reach.

The Jackets outshot the Lions 25-9, and out cornered the Lions, 6-2.

In net, B-W sophomore Ryan Hulings (Centerville) played all 90 minutes and made four saves while recording his second straight shutout and fourth of the season.
