Men's Lacrosse Salutes Four Senior Athletes

BEREA, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University Athletic Department and men's lacrosse program would like to congratulate senior student-athletes Eric BechtelNolan ConnellyClay Kolke and John Schulte on completing their outstanding athletic careers at the University. Their hard work, dedication and commitment to the program is evident, and is greatly appreciated. These four athletes helped BW collect two Ohio Athletic Conference Regular Season titles and appear in two OAC Championship games. These young men have had solid careers not only athletically but academically as well. In addition, their leadership has been a key element.

The University also would like to thank the parents for their loyalty and support. Today, we also honor your hard work, commitment, and dedication as well.

The University administration, faculty and staff would like to wish all of you great success in all your future endeavors.

Eric Bechtel is a finance major from Westlake, Ohio and a graduate of Westlake High School. He is a midfielder that will earn his second varsity letter this spring. In his career, Bechtel appeared in 27 games and made 14 starts. He has scored 18 goals and dished out 11 assists for 29 total points. He also took 74 shots with 41 shots on goal. On the defensive end, he collected 23 ground balls and caused five turnovers. Bechtel is the son of Jeff and Melissa Bechtel.

 

 

 

 

Nolan Connelly is a healthcare management graduate major from Rocky River, Ohio and a graduate of Rocky River High School. He is a midfielder that will earn his second varsity letter this spring. In his career, Connelly has appeared in 14 games and made one start. He took two shots with two shots on goal. On the defensive end, he collected three ground balls. Off the field, he is an Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer, a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma and Dayton C. Miller Honoraries. Connelly is son of Tim and Debbie Connelly.

 

 

 

 

Clay Kolke is an environmental science and physics double major from Medina, Ohio and a graduate of Medina High School. He is a defender that will earn his third varsity letter this spring. In his career, Kolke has appeared in 44 games and made 35 starts. He dished out one assist for one point and has taken two shots. On the defensive end, he collected 46 ground balls and caused 27 turnovers. Kolke is the son of Keith and Charlotte Kolke.

 

 

 

 

John Schulte is a chemistry major from Grosse Pointe, Michigan and a graduate of Grosse Pointe South High School. He is a midfielder that will earn his third varsity letter this spring. In his career, Schulte has appeared in 46 games and made 17 starts. He has scored 38 goals and dished out 12 assisst for 50 points. He took 102 shots with 69 on goal. On the defensive end, he collected 17 ground balls and caused six turnovers. Off the field, he is a two-time Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer, a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society. Schulte is the son of Dan and Sharlene Schulte.
