Aquilla's Late Fourth Quarter Game Winner Lifts Men’s Lacrosse Past Otterbein

BEREA, Ohio – Junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference midfielder Jonas Aquilla (Westlake/St. Edward) scored the game-winning goal with 1:36 remaining as the Baldwin Wallace University men's lacrosse team held off a second half rally by Otterbein University to secure an OAC victory by a final score of 11-10 on the Tressel Field inside the George Finnie Stadium. 

BW Leaders (10-3, 7-0 OAC)

  • Junior attack midfielder/attack Kyler Byerly (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) scored a game-high tying three goals and added two assists for a game-best five points
  • Aquilla scored two goals, including the game-winner, for two points
  • Senior Academic All-OAC midfielder John Schulte (Grosse Pointe, Mich./South) and sophomore attack/midfielder Rhys Leach (Canton/GlenOak) each had a goal and assist for two points
  • Junior All-OAC netminder Joe Storner (Louisville, Ky./St. Xavier) won his 10th game of the season and had nine saves

  • Senior Academic All-OAC midfielder Dekaider Jackson and senior midfielder Nawan Bailey each scored three goals

The Yellow Jackets are back in action when they travel to University Heights for an OAC game against crosstown rival John Carroll University on Wasmer Field inside the Don Shula Stadium at 7 p.m.  BW returns home on Wednesday, April 17 when it hosts the OAC regular season finale on Seniors' Night against Ohio Northern University on the Tressel Field inside the George Finnie Stadium at 7 p.m.
