Men’s Lacrosse Rounds out 2022 Coaching Staff

BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University Head Lacrosse Coach Tony Tatro has announced the additions of Tyree Sewell and Bill Schmoldt and the return of Rory Jeffers to his coaching staff.

Sewell, who enters his first season as a collegiate lacrosse coach, joins the staff after earning his bachelor's degree and playing lacrosse at NCAA Division II Lake Erie College. He appeared in 11 games in two seasons with the Storm and recorded 10 ground balls and forced five turnovers. Sewell also played one season at NCAA Division III Bryn Athyn (Pa.) College and two seasons at National Junior College Athletic Association Mercyhurst University (Pa.) North East. He currently is an assistant coach with Burning River Club Lacrosse.

Schmoldt comes to BW after serving as head men's lacrosse coach at Heidelberg University for five seasons. Prior to Heidelberg, he served as an assistant coach and defensive coordinator at Oberlin College for two seasons. Before Oberlin, Schmoldt served as the head coach for John Carroll University's club team for five seasons, where he posted a record of 51-40. He got his start coaching lacrosse at Saint Ignatius High School, where he served as an assistant coach. In addition, Schmoldt serves as the Cleveland Director of Resolute Lacrosse and is the owner if Cleveland Suburban Lacrosse. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in communications from Marquette (Wis.) University in 2001. Schmoldt was a four-year starter and two-year captain on the club lacrosse team. 

Jeffers, who has been a part of the men's lacrosse program since 2012 maintains his role as an assistant coach. He came to Berea after serving as an assistant coach at his alma mater St. Edward High School for five seasons. Jeffers also serves as an assistant coach with Force Lacrosse Academy, Cleveland Suburban Lacrosse and Resolute Lacrosse. He earned his bachelor's degree and played club lacrosse at the University of Dayton.

The Yellow Jackets open the 2022 campaign on Saturday, February 19th when they travel to Granville to take on Denison University at 12:00 p.m. The team's first home game is on Saturday, February 26th in the first game of a men's and women's doubleheader at 1:00 p.m. Ohio Athletic Conference play begins on Saturday, March 26th when the team travels to Bexley to take on Capital University.
