Three Men’s Lacrosse Players Named to the IMLCA All-Region 4 Squad

DURHAM, N.C.  – Three Baldwin Wallace University men's lacrosse players have been selected to the Intercollegiate Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IMLCA) All-Region Four Team.

Junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference attack Kyler Byerly (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) and junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC defender Neil Randall (Manhattan Beach, Calif./Palos Verdes) were named to the first-team.  Junior All-OAC midfielder Jonas Aquilla (Westlake/St. Edward) was tabbed as an honorable mention selection.

Byerly, who garners his first career honor, led the OAC with a career-best 80 points. He was also second in the OAC with a career-high 51 goals and was tied for third in the OAC with a career-best 29 assists. Byerly also collected a career-high 22 ground balls and caused a career-best seven turnovers.  For his career, Byerly has appeared in 39 games and has tallied 76 goals, 47 assists for 123 points.  He has also recorded 52 ground balls and caused 13 turnovers.  Byerly is a two-time All-OAC first team selection and an OAC Offensive Player of the Week award winner.

Randall, who earns his first career accolade, led the OAC and was fourth in NCAA Division III with a school-record 61 caused turnover. He was second on the team with 65 ground balls and tied for fourth on the squad with one faceoff win. In addition, Randall appeared in and started all 18 games and scored a career-high two goals with a career-best two assists for a career-high four points. For his career, Randall has played in 37 games with 37 starts.  He has recorded 109 ground balls, 94 caused turnovers, won nine face offs, scored two goals and added two assists.  Randall is a 2022 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-American, the 2022 OAC Defender of the Year and a two-time All-OAC first-team selection.  Off the field, he is a two-time Academic All-OAC pick, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.

Aquilla, who garners his first honor, was third on the team with a career-best 45 ground balls, fourth on the team with a career-best 23 points, fourth on the squad with a career-high 19 caused turnovers and fourth on the team with a career-best eight assists. He appeared in all 18 games and scored a career-high 15 goals.  For his career, Aquilla has appeared in 37 games and has recorded 69 ground balls, 29 caused turnovers, 24 points, 16 goals and eight assists. He is a two-time All-OAC first-team selection and a 2022 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-American.

BW finished the 2022 campaign as the OAC Regular Season Champions and advanced to their second consecutive OAC Tournament Championship game.  The Yellow Jackets posted a record of 14-4 overall and a perfect 9-0 slate in the OAC.
