BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University men's lacrosse head coach Trey Keeley has announced his 2018 team captains.

Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference attack Brock Riemenschneider (Rocky River), senior midfielder Jack Gerlack (Rocky River), senior All-OAC goalkeeper Mike DiZonno (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Adlai E. Stevenson) and junior All-OAC defender Brian Jandzinski (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster Central) have all been chosen to lead the team as captains this season.

"Brock, Jack, Mike and Brian are great young men and they are each well respected by their teammates," Keeley said. "They are coming together as a leadership unit more each and every day. I expect big things from their leadership this spring as they hold us accountable to our core values and push us to accomplish our team goals. I know they are humbled with the position and are looking forward to raising the bar for what it means to be a part of the Yellow Jacket Men's Lacrosse program. Our staff has faith they will lead us relentlessly towards success."

A staple in the BW offense for the past three seasons, Riemenschneider is just the second Yellow Jacket men's lacrosse player to have amassed 100 career points. He will lead an offensive attack that returns 95 percent of its points from a season ago.

Gerlack is a three-year letterwinner and has been a force in the midfield since his freshman year. He will lead a senior-laden midfield that returns top scorers in Matt McDowell and Derek Andrews.

After leading the nation in goals against average in 2016, DiZonno returns between the pipes for his senior season to anchor a defense that has statistically led Division III in scoring defense in the past.

The lone junior captain, Jandzinski is the key staple in a proud defensive tradition that graduated the OAC's first All-American and two captains. He will lead a new-look defensive unit this season and his mentorship will be key in continuing that tough defensive tradition for the Yellow Jackets.

BW will open the 2018 season on the road on Wednesday, February 21, with a non-conference game against Washington & Jefferson (Pa.) College at 6 p.m. inside Alexandre Stadium.
