Greve Named OAC Defender of the Year to Highlight Men’s Lacrosse OAC Honors

BEREA, Ohio –
Baldwin Wallace University men's lacrosse All-Ohio Athletic Conference junior defender Josiah Greve (Milford) was named the OAC Defensive Player of the Year to headline six All-OAC honors.

Greve and junior face-off specialist Alex Fioritto (Akron/Walsh Jesuit) were named to the first-team. Sophomore attack Brock Riemenschneider (Rocky River), freshman midfielder Chad Steinwachs (Buffalo, N.Y. / Williamsville North), and freshman long stick midfielder Cole McClary (Perrysburg) were all tabbed to the second-team. Freshman defender Brian Jandzinski (Lancaster, N.Y.) was selected as an honorable mention.

Greve earns his third All-OAC first-team honor and led a Yellow Jacket defense that only allowed 5.3 goals per game. This season he caused a school-record 47 turnovers and picked up a team-high 64 ground balls.Greve holds the school-record for caused turnovers in a career with 109 and has tallied up 143 ground balls in three seasons. He also earned Academic All-OAC honors last season.

Fioritto, earns his second All-OAC honor after being named to the second-team a year ago. This season, he set two school-records winning 200 face-offs and tallying up 120 ground balls. In his career, Fioritto holds two school-records in face-off wins with 471 and ground balls with 302.

This season, Riemenschneider and Steinwachs led BW offensively with a team-high tying 38 points each. Riemenschneider scored a career-high 26 goals and added a career-high tying 12 assists. Steinwachs scored 21 goals and added 17 assists in his first year in the brown and gold.

In his career, Riemenschneider has played in 32 games, scored 50 goals, and dished out 24 assists for 74 points. He has also tallied up 42 ground balls.

McClary, earns his first All-OAC accolade with a strong freshman campaign. He will earn his first varsity letter this spring. McClary started in all 17 games, caused 24 turnovers, and picked up 58 ground balls. He also scored two goals and added one assist for three points.

Jandzinski also earned his first All-OAC honor. He will recieve his first varsity letter this spring. He played in all 17 games including 15 starts, caused 17 turnovers, and picked up 21 ground balls.

BW set a school-record for wins in a season with 14 as it had a record of 14-3 overall.  The Yellow Jackets won its first Co-OAC Regular Season Championship with an OAC mark of 6-1 and advanced to the OAC Tournament semifinal game for the third straight season.
